Robert and Claire Craig: Robert, age 64 is the father of 2 daughters and 1 son. Born and raised in West Point, Ms. Presently, Robert is chairman of the deacons; not elevating himself over the others but providing direction for meetings and acting as a contact person for members to easily identify. Robert is employed by Columbus Scrap Material Inc. Robert's deacon responsibilities include teaching young adults and teenagers.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
I believe that we as christians have a responsibilty to show through our lives and examples how Jesus came to save the entire world.
Robert has been married to Claire for 43 years and member of OAR church of Christ for 46 years. Robert and Claire Craig lead the educational department. Claire is the glue that holds our education department together. Once a school teacher, now retired, Claire has a passion for educating our youth as well as adults. She is extremely organized and teaches an after school program called "Junior Leaders" on Wednesday afternoons.
Ryan and Shelia Fulgham: Ryan, age 37 is the father of 2 daughters, ages 13, 7 and 2 sons ages 6, 3. Born in West Point, Ms. and owner of Fulgham Meat Market on Lone Oak Drive. Ryan operates the audio portion of our worship and records the Sunday sermons to CD for others to enjoy. Ryan is our deacon responsible for the upkeep of the building. Ryan also teaches our youth boys and 2/3 years olds. Ryan's hobbies include hunting, fishing and tinkering around his shop on whatever peaks his interest at the time
Personal Vision as a Christian:
To overcome my shyness, so I may talk to strangers about Jesus and invite them to worship with our family. To live my life as an example that I should, so others and my children will live their lives the same way.
Ryan has been married to Shelia for 10 years and member of OAR church of Christ for 11 years. Shelia is a teacher in the West Point School system. Shelia sings with the praise team and is an original member of group Refuge. God has blessed Shelia and us with a great singing voice. Shelia is also the sister of Angie Tyler who is married to another one of our deacons, Bob Tyler. She is also very active with teaching kids the Biblical lessons so important at a young age.
Bobby and Sandra Graham: Bobby, age 60, was born in Columbus and raised here in West Point. He is a long time member of OAR and married the former Sandra Rose Jackson, originally from Clarksdale. She was baptized at 21 and has been a member for 37 years. Bobby and Sandra are the parents of 2 sons,ages 36 and 31 and one daughter, age 28.
Bobby is one of the teachers at the Career and Tech Center of the West Point High School and enjoys hunting, fishing, reading and cooking. Sandra works for Waverly Care Home and enjoys making Bobby's 'Honey-do' list. Sandra says she 'loves her church family!'
Bobby is one of two treasurers and assist with building maintenance responsibilities. He is also responsible for Missions the church supports. Bobby teaches teenage and adult classes and Sandra teaches the nursery class. Bobby is also a small group leader.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
When I am gone from this earth, the people who know me and love me will say and remember me as a person that loved the Lord and his neighbors.
Bobby has been married to Sandra for 39 years and a member of OAR church of Christ for 50 years. Sandra helps with the fellowship committee, teaches cradle roll and helps with the nursery during services. Sandra is a caregiver at Waverly Care Home here in West Point. Sandra is one of the contact persons for community needs.
Scott and Allison Hinnant: Scott, age 32 is the father of 2 sons ages 11, 7. Born in West Point, Ms. Scott is employed by West Point Fire Department where he is an active fireman. Scott is active in worship preparation and is one of our worship/song leaders. Scott is one of our 3 deacons responsible for the Youth programs. Scott also teaches our youth boys. Scott's hobbies include hunting and golf.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
To spread the Gospel of Christ through our actions of love that comes from God. To be the church and not just go to the church. To serve others with the love of Christ compelling us, to make a difference.
Scott has been married to Allison for 12 years and member of OAR church of Christ for 9 years. Allison is a Physical Therapists. Allison sings with the praise team and is an original member of group Refuge. God has blessed Allison and us with a great singing voice.
Scott and Vonda Hudson: Scott, age 47 is the father of a daughter, ages 19 and 1 son age 17. Born and raised in Steens, Ms. Scott is one of the teachers at the West Point High school in the Vo-Tech center. Scott is one of two treasurers for the church. Scott also takes car of the church van and maintains the baptistry. Scott's hobbies include hunting, fishing and pretty much anything outdoors.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
To strive to be the person God wants me to be. To help others in this group of believers to be the church family God wants us to be.
Scott has been married to Vonda for 24 years and member of OAR church of Christ for 22 years. Vonda is a teacher in the Caledonia School system. Vonda has helped teach the pre-teen and teenage girls at OAR. Vonda also helps with the nursery duties.
Jesse and Karen Quarrels: Jess, age 60, is the father of a daughter,age 29. Born in Herrin, IL. and reared in Galatia, IL., Jess is a Mississippi State University employee and a horticulturist by education and experience. He is the deacon charged with upkeep of the church grounds and maintains our own 'Garden of Eden' with the help of several members. Jess also serves on the Outreach Committee. Jess teaches adult, college, and along with wife Karen, young married classes. Jess's hobbies include hunting, eBaying, and vintage motorcycles.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
1. Become more like Christ and be an example of His love in this lost world.
2. Help others in the church to strengthen their faith and build strong relationships with fellow brothers and sisters.

Jess has been married to Karen for 35 years and a member at OAR church of Christ for 24 years. Jess and Karen have been involved in team-teaching college and young married classes as needed. Karen, our resident craft expert, works on special event decorations and is a consultant for classroom design. Karen is the coordinator for Adult Education at East Mississippi Community College.
Jason and Rebecca Rustin: Jason, age 31 is the father of 1 daughter, age 3 and 1 son age 5 months and counting. Born in West Point, Ms. and owner of LMR Enterprises LLC, a lawn and Landscape business. Jason is our deacon responsible for the upkeep of the grounds including the flower beds. Jason is also one of the 3 deacons reasponsible for the youth. He oversees youth activities, fundraisers, curriculum for the older youth, 6 grade through grade 12. Jason's hobbies include hunting, fishing and 4-wheeler riding. He is also a diehard Ole Miss fan.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
I have a strong love for my wife and kids and it is my desire to teach my children the love of God and allow them to grow up in a home in which God will be the center of our home. Our Church family will be an extension of our family at home. It is my desire to see the youth grow in a positive direction and become Christian leaders in the Church and our community.
Jason has been married to Rebecca for 9 years and member of OAR church of Christ for 12 years. Rebecca is a teacher in the West Point School system. Rebecca sings with the praise team and is an original member of group Refuge. God has blessed Rebecca and us with a great singing voice. She is also very active with teaching classes for kids and teenage girls.
Doug and Gale Thompson: Doug, age 63 is the father of 2 sons, ages 30 and 25. He is also the father of 2 daughters ages 39 and 33. Born in Starkville, Ms. and raise right here in West Point, Ms. Doug is employed with Aberdeen RV Center located on Hwy 45 Alt north of West Point. Doug is the deacon that serves over the new member and widow ministry. Doug is also one of the leaders of our small groups that meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday nights. Doug teaches teenage and adult classes. Doug's hobbies include time with the family and attending the grandchildren's games.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
We should strive to be like Jesus Christ and be forever mindful of his words in
Matthew 25:31-46. With that in mind we should be about the business of spreading the good newsof Christ to all.
Doug has been married to Gail for 40 years and a member of OAR church of Christ for 43 years. Gail is employed by the West Point school system and is a secretary at Eastside Elementary school. Gail helps with the fellowship committee, helps with the nursery during services and helps with the Junior Leaders program at OAR.
Bob and Angie Tyler: Bob, age 39 is the father of 2 sons ages 5, 3. Born and raised in West Point, Ms. and owner of Tyler Enterprises Lawn and Landscaping. Bob is our deacon responsible for youth ministry and helping other deacons with the upkeep of the building. Bob's hobbies include hunting, fishing and any thing his boys are doing (Soccer, T-Ball and Basketball).
Personal Vision as a Christian:
To be as good a husband, father, friend and brother in Christ as I can be. To raise my family in the ways of the Lord and teach children to be responsible, caring and giving people. I hope I can be a good example for fellow Christians and those that are lost in this world.
Bob has been married to Angie for 11 years and member of OAR church of Christ for 14 years. Angie is a Cosmetologist at the "Bink" in the West Point area. Angie sings with the praise team and is an original member of group Refuge. God has blessed Angie and us with a great singing voice. Angie is also the sister of Shelia Fulgham who is married to another one of our deacons, Ryan Fulgham. She is also very active with teaching kids the Biblical lessons so important at a young age.
Alvis and Diane Warren: Alvis, age 59 is the father of 2 sons ages 35, 31. Born and raised in West Point, Ms. and self employed. Alvis is our deacon responsible for leading the Worship Committee. The Worship Committee plans the worship service with a goal in mind of eliminating as many distractions as possible. They also try to add structure, which in turn, ensures things go as smoothly as possible for our worship services .Alvis is involved in teaching the Adult classes and youth ministry. Alvis's hobbies include wood working, hunting, and watching high school and college football.
Personal Vision as a Christian:
I see the terrible shape the world is in today. So many have strayed away from God and more people than ever have never been taught who God is. As a Christian I believe it is my duty to do as Jesus did; to seek and save the lost and teach them who God is. Many believe there is a God but they don't know who God is. It's time for all Christians to step forward and share the word of God to those who don't know him.

Alvis has been married to Diane for 37 years and member of OAR church of Christ for 35 years. Diane is the Librarian in the West Point School District, specifically, Central School. God has blessed Diane and us with a great cooking ability. Diane is also a results driven person and keeps Alvis on the right path. They are the perfect compliment to one another. She is also very active with teaching kids the Biblical lessons so important at a young age.
